EMERSON KATT
Singer • Songwriter • True Western Soul
Emerson Katt is a country music singer-songwriter whose life is a blend of grit, heart, and harmony. A farrier by day and musician by night, Emerson embodies the Western spirit—hardworking, authentic, and endlessly inspired by the simple joys and challenges of everyday life.
After a life-changing accident—being kicked in the head while working with a horse—Emerson spent his recovery time pouring his soul into songwriting, refining his voice and vision. With a renewed sense of purpose (and a signature sense of humor), he now lives by the motto: “Any day I don’t get kicked in the face by a horse is a good day.”
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Emerson grew up surrounded by art and music. His father, actor and musician William Katt, had his own career on Broadway and remains an active singer-songwriter collaborating with top Nashville talent. Emerson’s creative lineage extends even further—his grandmother, the late actress Barbara Hale, witnessed one of his performances before her passing, a memory Emerson holds dear.
Influenced by artists like John Pardi and The Eagles, who famously emerged from his hometown, Emerson’s sound blends traditional country storytelling with California’s laid-back, rootsy vibe. His project, Friends & Lovers, Inc., brings together an ever-evolving lineup of friends, family, and fellow musicians for dynamic live performances where you never know who might take the stage next.
Recently, Emerson released “Wait,” a heartfelt track recorded with members of Lucinda Williams’ band and Wallflowers guitarist Stuart Mathis—a testament to the deep musical connections that define his journey.
For Emerson Katt, music isn’t just a career—it’s a calling born from family, friendship, and the unbreakable spirit of the American West.
